Review
One remarkable thing about Sony Playstation VR is its uniqueness amidst a host of competitors like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. From its affordable price to its stylish design and simple installation process, the Playstation VR is easily the best deal on the VR Headset market.
Affordable Price
Not many people are willing to spend a fortune on VR headsets, and Playstation VR seems to be the easiest solution to that. It’s the most affordable among the most popular VR headsets, and for console gamers, the experience is otherworldly. A fully working kit with the camera and controllers costs about 350 USD, which is about one and a half times cheaper than others.
Handy Headset
The Playstation VR is not only stylish in its appearance but noticeably light and comfortable. With about 610 grams of weight, the device is not too heavy, especially if you sit while playing. It is also comfortable for your eyesight to play in glasses if they are not bulky, although the downside is that it slightly narrows the viewing zone.
Stunning Visuals
The headset provides a breathtaking 360-degree view with a consistent field of view no matter which way you turn. Its sleek, cutting-edge design is accented by elegant tracking lights that bathe users in a hypnotic blue glow. It does, however, have a poor screen resolution. The image occasionally breaks apart into pixels, jerks, and seems like a cartoon image, preventing full immersion and emphasizing the gap between reality and virtuality to a non-advanced user.
3D Audio
Its audio technology allows you to determine the direction and distance of sounds from all around you. With its built-in microphone, you can communicate with your online pals, debate in-game strategies, and increase your immersion in the virtual world.
Easy Setup
PS VR was designed for a mass-market audience, so all you need to do to install it is connect the PlayStation 4 wires, the TV set, the processing unit, and the headgear itself. In comparison to its competitors, it is simple to implement. However, the cables might take up room space, and many extra-heavy wires cannot be detached from the headset.
Precision Tracking
The PlayStation Camera tracks nine LEDs on the front, back, and sides of the PS VR headset, assuring precise accuracy within the game environment no matter where you are in the room. The PlayStation Camera, with twin lenses and 3D depth sensors, records the location of the headset, PlayStation Move controller, and DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller from every aspect. However, it has identification flaws, which means that the PlayStation Camera cannot see the headset from a distance of more than three meters. If you cover the sensors with your palm, it may lose the headset even more.
Supports PS VR Games on PS Console
With the PSVR, you can play PS VR games on your PS5. All you have to do is connect your PlayStationVR to your PS5 system. To connect your PS VR to your PS5 system, you’ll need your PlayStation Camera for PS4 and a PlayStation Camera adapter (no purchase necessary). The only issue is that it doesn’t work well with the Move controllers. Sony, on the other hand, has hinted at the development of a PSVR 2 headgear, which will include a pair of new controllers.
