The Display
The Fitbit Sense features a square face and rounded edges with a crisp 1.58-inch AMOLED display made with Gorilla Glass 3. The case is made of stainless steel and aluminum giving it a premium-looking finish. It has a small touch haptic button on the left-hand side that is used to set up quick access to your frequently used applications. Single press the button to open the waking watch and double press the button for quick access. You cannot wake it up by simply tapping the screen and the button is sometimes unresponsive which some users find annoying.
The watch display can be set to “Always on” which drains the battery life a lot faster. You can also set it to “Automatic Wake” where the screen automatically turns on when you lift your wrist and tilt it towards your face. The Fitbit Sense is available in two styles, a black silicone band with a grey stainless steel bezel and a white band with a gold stainless steel bezel. The strap is interchangeable to suit your personal preferences.
Features
You can count on Fitbit as a reliable fitness tracker. It records your heart rate every 5 seconds, and it can count your daily steps. It has an advanced sleep monitor where it can keep track of your sleep cycle, skin temperature, and breathing rate. It has a smart alarm function where it wakes you at the ideal time in your sleep. Also, it tracks your levels overnight and provides an accurate oxygen variation graph in the morning.
One of its most important features is the Electrodiagram Sensor (ECG) which records the pattern of the heartbeat. This is most useful for monitoring and preventing heart problems. Another important feature is the Electrodermal Activity Sensor (EDA) which detects the shift of sweat level to measure stress levels. These features are medically validated by the FDA and useful if you constantly want to keep track of your stress levels immediately.
Is it worth it?
The Fitbit Sense is an exceptional smartwatch giving you features of advanced health sensors at an affordable price. It is a great option if you want to keep track of your health and sleep habits conveniently and also offers a long battery life estimated at 6 days.
However, if you want to access its advanced health features, FitBits Premium Monthly Subscription is required. Also, its GPS is not that accurate compared to its competitors. For its warranty, it does not include device repair and maintenance making it an expensive disposable item.
