Epson Moverio BT-40S Smart Glasses with Binocular, 1080p, Transparent Displays and Intelligent Touch Controller
Review
The Epson Moverio BT-300 is the third generation of the company’s augmented reality smart glasses portfolio. It has an even lighter structure than previous models as an updated headwear. Many other aspects of the glasses have also gotten better.
Augmented Reality Ready
The Epson Moverio glasses can scan real-world objects like QR codes and display relevant information right on top of the QR code. While flying a compatible drone in first-person view, viewing virtual blueprints, or simply watching Netflix, AR can be useful. It is powered by an Intel Atom chipset, making it an ideal platform for developing augmented reality apps.
Remarkable Battery Life
The battery can last up to six hours on average. However, battery life can vary greatly depending on the applications used, and device settings (such as wireless on or off, brightness setting, and temperature).
Stellar Features and Performance
The Epson Moverio BT-300 is ideal for all types of business work. It has a powerful Intel Atom Quad-Core processor. This ensures smoother performance when working with a variety of applications, including those that require a lot of content. With a plethora of sensors, including additional motion sensors in the controller and headset, it’s easy to become immersed. The fact that the camera is on the right side means that you won’t be able to wear these glasses everywhere is a minor disadvantage.
Great Visuals
The smart glasses have a 720p HD display and high brightness levels to keep the colors crisp and clear. Because of the HD front-facing camera, you can also send high-quality videos and photos to people you’re connected with via your headset. They’ve also taken care not to sacrifice image quality in order to save weight.
Easy Control Methods
These smart glasses can be controlled in two ways: with head movements or with a wired controller. While out and about, head movements will be much easier to use; however, at home, when playing games or browsing the web, the controller will provide a more comfortable controlling experience.
Light, Comfortable Fit
The Epson Moverio BT-300 is a pair of glasses that are extremely light. It’s much easier to wear a headset that doesn’t bother you, even for long periods.
Packed with Sensors
The Epson Moverio BT-300 features motion-tracking sensors in the headset and controller, plus a front-facing high-resolution camera. All these make it ideal for 360-degree, hands-free AR apps and more.
Enhanced Connectivity
Dual-band wireless connectivity and Bluetooth Smart (BLE) enable integration with a wide range of accessories. Epson has built the latest Wi-Fi innovations into its technology with Bluetooth Smart Ready functionality, Wi-Fi, and Miracast too. The glasses can easily connect to a wide selection of devices to receive data and content at high speed.
Prescription Glasses-Friendly
The Epson Moverio BT-300 is compatible with a wide range of prescription glasses. If you wear glasses, it’s not an issue because the Moverio glasses have a clip-on nose bridge that allows them to coexist peacefully with your prescription eyewear. A lens shade insert is also included to help control the brightness of the sky.
