Amazfit GTR 2
Reviews Summary
The Amazfit GTR 2 looks good, delivers decent fitness monitoring, and has now enhanced its capacity to operate outside of tracking steps or sleep with two smart assistants and a music player. It also has a longer battery life than its similarly-priced competitors. It’s not flawless, and its sports monitoring is limited to casual exercisers, but it’s a stylish smartwatch that gets the job done.

Review
The Amazfit GTR 2 is a smartwatch that works with Android and iOS and has a more stylish design than its predecessor. Despite the fact that it only has a few smartwatch functions, it contains a lot of the things you’d expect to pay more for.
Great design and display
The Amazfit GTR 2 is a reasonably priced smartwatch with a high-resolution screen. It is available in two design variations, both of which include the same functions for both exercise and non-fitness use. It has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 × 454 pixels and a pixel density of 326 PPI. The touchscreen is protected from scratches by a layer of tempered glass. It also has a good anti-fingerprint coating, so you don’t have to constantly clean the screen down all the time. The screen features auto and manual brightness adjustments and is visible even in bright sunshine outside. The screen is, however, highly reflective, so expect some glare from certain angles.
Built-in GPS and sensors
The sensors and functions that make the GTR 2 a capable fitness tracker and sports watch are hidden beneath the attractive appearance. You’ll get a built-in GPS and a sensor that will track your heart rate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and during exercise. It can also test blood oxygen levels for an extra dose of fitness data. The SpO2 sensor, on the other hand, is quite slow.
Sports modes available
There are a total of 12 sports modes for tracking, which include, unsurprisingly, running, cycling, and swimming. While it has all of the attributes to make it an excellent jogging or gym partner, it lacks the accuracy to make it a fantastic match.
Compatible with Android and iOS
The Amazfit GTR 2 can manage notifications that aren’t actionable but are properly optimized for the display and still works with Android and iOS devices. It allows you to answer or reject calls directly from the watch’s display. In reality, the watch features microphones and a speaker, allowing you to conduct a fast conversation without having to go for your phone. The audio quality, on the other hand, is barely acceptable. Offline voice commands are supported, however, they are currently more hit than miss. Alternatively, you can use the watch to transfer the call to a Bluetooth headset.
Decent battery life
One of the most enticing features of the Amazfit GTR 2 smartwatch is that it does not require daily charging. The battery has a capacity of 471mAh and should last 14 days in usual use and 38 days in basic use.
Comfortable to wear
Even after prolonged use, the watch is exceptionally pleasant to wear for long periods of time, and the strap material does not cause sweating or skin irritation. You can easily replace it with any 22 mm strap from any third-party manufacturer.
